The field of 37 participants got underway on Monday 15^th November, to compete for the seven invitational places available that would see the winners go through to the regional final on the 12^th January at Yas Island Golf Course.  Arabian Ranches Golf Club hosted the qualifying event and the field played an Individual Strokeplay event, with the winners and qualifiers scores based on the best Net.  

Playing an excellent round of golf, Jocelyn Lirio came in with an excellent score of a 69 Net, but that was matched by visiting golfer from Abu Dhabi, Angela Scurr who also came in with a solid three under her handicap 69.   This was separated by a count-back and Jocelyn managed to grab the first place prize from Angela.  In third place, home course competitor, Bernadete Futschik, came in with a steady 71 Net.  Winning Nearest the Pins were Bernadete Futschik and Nasha Sarkari and Longest Drive was won by Barb McBean.

The seven qualifying places was extremely difficult to separate, as many of the lower scores were the same, which meant the organizers had to confirm the final places through various count-backs.  In the end the following seven participants won the qualifying invitations to take part in the Regional Final:

Junior player Julia Alhemoud age 11 participated in the Ladies Qualifier on Monday 15 November 2010. Julia flew in from Kuwait with her father Abdulla Alhemoud to compete for a place in the Grand Final. Julia is a very talented golfer who has reached her 18 handicap in less than 18 months. Julia played an exceptional game of golf, competing against a field of adults. Unfortunately, Julia missed her place in the Grand Final with one point, scoring 74 Net.

Women’s Golf Middle East is very proud to have been awarded the opportunity to host the Ladies Qualifier on behalf of The Invitational hosted by Abdullah Al Naboodah. The Ladies QR will become part of the annual regional qualifiers for The Invitational Grand Final.
