Women Golf Middle East hosted a team event at The Els Club on 24th January 2011, playing a Texas Scramble format. The teams teed off in perfect conditions and the scoring was excellent, with a close call between two teams who landed on the exact same net. The format was based on a Strokeplay format with 10% of the combined handicaps deducted from the gross score to give the net team score.

Two teams came in with a net 62.8 – Winning on the count back was team Pauline Wallace, Anne Baxter, Wendy Clayphan and Julie Piechowiak. The team scorecard recorded two birdies on the front 9 holes with one bogey giving one under gross 35. The back 9 saw all pars except for a drop shot on hole 12 giving them a a one over 37. The second team of Natalie Lucas, Riette Cuciurean, Suzanne Eveleigh and Tjarda Van Epen also recorded a gross 35 on the front 9 holes but only managed a 38 on the back 9 with three bogey’s and one birdie. In third place with a score of 68.5 was the team of Terri Stewart, Lynn Camino, Jo Docherty and Judi Cahill. The special events were won by Wendy Calyphan, Riette Cuciurean and Natalie Lucas.
