WGME held their second event of the season at Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa on Monday 4th October.  Fighting humid conditions, the ladies took part in a Better-Ball Stableford Event, with the best individual points to count on each hole out of the two players.  The formidable duo of Margaret Margetts and Carol Anne Watson took the top honours with an excellent 41 team points.  Both players dove-tailed extremely well with Carol Anne scoring five three pointers and Margaret scoring three of the three pointers to give them 21 points on the front nine holes and 20 points on the back nine holes.   In second place the team of Brenda Cooke and Sandy Meyer did will to gain 39 points having a strong front nine with 23 points but failed to do the same on the back nine and finished with 16 points only.  In third place Pauline Wallace and Riette Cuciurean  had 37 points, with Riette having a very strong round of golf.  She scored three three pointers on the front nine and a three and four pointer on the back nine holes.  Pauline who won the last event at Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, kept a steady pace to make up the remaining scores.  Agnes Anwar hit some excellent irons today to claim all three nearest the pin prizes.
