WGME held their fifth Par 3 Event at Emirates Golf Club on Wednesday 2n d June. Twenty seven ladies registered for the event which started at a 6.30pm shotgun start and included 9 Holes of golf on the Par 3 Course.

The format was an Individual Stableford based on a modified handicap system, according to ability. Playing extremely well, Arathi Apaiah who took part for the first time in the WGME event, showed her talent by scoring 22 points and took the honors on this occasion. Fighting for 2nd and 3rd places was Ashley Anderson, Sarah Martin and Anne Baxter who all scored 20 points. Winning on a count back on the last 6 holes, Sarah came out tops with 14 points, from Ashley who took second place with 13 points and Anne unfortunately missed out on the prize with 10 points.

Following the 9 Holes, Neil Webb and Elizabeth Esterl supported WGME with a putting seminar for the ladies. This proved very interesting and incorporating the 9 Hole game with the informative session, gave many of our advanced and beginner golfers the opportunity to learn about the basic technique of putter design and personalization of these clubs.

Following the golf seminar the ladies enjoyed a buffet dinner on the laws of the Emirates Golf Club.

This will be our final event for WGME for the season and we look forward to commencing again in the New Season in September 2010.
